HYDRANT FLUSHING
The Town of Broadway Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants over the next two months, beginning August 26, 2025. Public Works employees will need clear access to all hydrants. To that end, a 3-foot clear space must be maintained around the entire circumference of a fire hydrant and vehicles are prohibited from parking within 15 feet of a hydrant, per the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and Local County Ordinances. Any landscaping or other obstruction that has been placed within the 3-foot clear space of a hydrant will be removed by the Public Works Department. If a resident experiences air in the water lines, or cloudy water, the line should be flushed by running water through a bathtub faucet until the water clears. Thank you for your patience while this service is performed in the Town of Broadway.
